Should I call my own insurance company and tell them about my Florida car accident?

A.  Yes.  A person involved in a car accident should call their insurance company and report the claim even though they are not a fault for the crash.  There are a number of reasons, why you need to report the claim.  First, you may decide to have the car fixed through your own insurance company if you have collision insurance.  Second, if you are going to seek any medical attention, you will need to open a “no-fault” or “personal injury protection” claim.  Florida is a no-fault state and medical care and treatment has to be submitted to your insurance company for payment.
