Florida car accident lawyer, Guy S. DiMartino, discusses whether a car accident injury case will be negatively impacted because the injured person did not have a valid driver's license.
It could happen by accident or intentionally, you're driving your vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver's license, you're involved in a car accident, and you're injured. Will the fact that you did not have a driver's license impact the settlement or trial of your personal injury case? No. The insurance adjuster may bark about the fact that you did not have a license or the defense attorney may ask you questions about not having a license, but that is as far as it's going to go. A jury will never learn that you did not have a valid license at the time of the accident. The jury's job will be to determine who was at fault for the accident, the nature and extent of your injuries and whether or not your injuries are permanent. The fact that you did not have a valid driver's license is irrelevant to these issues.
