Florida hit and run car accidents – Any chance of receiving compensation?

Florida hit and run car accidents – any chance of receiving compensation.

Maybe you or somebody you love was  involved in a car crash and the other driver took off.  Why do you think the other driver took off?  Can you still receive money for your injuries and get your car fixed?  In my experience, the other driver took off for one of three reasons:

  1. they don't have insurance;
  2. they're drunk or on drugs;
  3. they just panicked

If the other driver took off and the police or your lawyer can't find them – you may still be able to get money for your injuries if the car that you were in has uninsured motorist insurance coverage.

You can also get the car fixed – if you have collision coverage.  If you don't have collision and you can't find the other driver or the driver is uninsured you are up a creek without a paddle.

In these types of cases, it is probably best to hire a lawyer immediately because the longer you wait – the more difficult it will be to find the other driver.
